De 2012 à 2017\, elle étudie en Biochimie et Médecine Moléculaire à l’UdeM d’où elle obtient successivement un baccalauréat\, puis une maitrise ayant pour sujet l’étude des interactions protéine-protéine par cristallographie aux rayons X supervisée par le Prof. James Omichinski. Elle décide ensuite d’approfondir ses connaissances en synthèse organique via l’accomplissement d’une autre maitrise (oui\, une deuxième!) en Chimie cette fois-ci dans le groupe du Prof. Shawn K. Collins (2017-2019). Ces travaux de recherche aboutiront à la publication d’un article scientifique dans le prestigieux journal Science. \n  \nEn janvier 2020\, il est temps pour Christina d’entrer sur le marché du travail. Sur recommandations\, elle déniche d’abord un poste d’assistante de recherche à l’Université McGill avant de rejoindre la Plateforme de Radiochimie et Cyclotron du CR-CHUM. Son expérience en radiochimie est très enrichissante puisqu’elle apprit à synthétiser et manipuler des composés radioactifs servant à l’imagerie médicale diagnostique. Mais il lui manquait encore quelque chose… Pendant quelques temps\, elle resta aux aguets des offres d’emploi dans la fonction publique au Laboratoire de sciences judiciaires et de médecine légale (LSJML) où elle appliquera agressivement à toutes les offres d’emploi pour lesquelles elle possède les qualifications. Cet acharnement finira par payer : désormais Spécialiste en balistique judiciaire au LSJML\, Christina nous partagera les expériences marquantes de son parcours universitaire et professionnel. \n  \nThèse M.Sc. From 2012 to 2017\, she studies Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at UdeM where she obtains successively a Bachelor’s degree followed by a Master’s degree\, the subject of which is the study of protein-protein interactions using X-ray crystallography (under the supervision of Prof. James Omichinski). She then decides to deepen her understanding of organic synthesis via the accomplishment of a second Master’s degree (yes\, an other one!) in Chemistry supervised by Prof. Shawn K. Collins (2017-2019). Her efforts will lead to the publication of an article in the prestigious Science magazine. \n  \nIn January 2020 it is now time for Christina to jump into the work market. Via recommendations\, she will fill a Research Assistant position at McGill University before joining the Plateforme de Radiochimie et Cyclotron from CR-CHUM. Her experience with radiochemistry was enriching: she learned how to synthesize and manipulate radioactive compounds used for diagnostics purposes in medical imaging. But something was still missing in her life… For some time\, she sought opportunities in civil service at the Laboratoire de sciences judiciaires et de médecine légale (LSJML) where she applied aggressively to any offer she was qualified for. This stubbornness will eventually pay off : currently a Firearm Examiner at the LSJML\, Christina will share with us the noteworthy experiences of her academic and professional journey. \n  \nThesis M.Sc.
